Video Shoot!

We just finished our first ever music video for our song, "You Got Me"! AND IT'S THE SEX! We can't wait for you guys to see it!

Honestly, we were worried that it was going to feel more like work to do a video because of all of the stuff that goes into it, but we had a really friggen awesome time! The video has several characters and we play all of them, so its very cool and has a storyline and will be perfect for the time of year... coming soooooon! In total we put in about 16 hours of production (for a 3 minute video, mind you) with make up, costume changes, scene changes, and filming the hilarious video! We really hope it rox ur sox cuz we've taken some REALLY BIG risks with our creativity (and reputation), but it's all us and it's a lot of fun (so maybe there really is no risk at all).

Back from Tour

Wow.

We're back! In some ways it seems like it was a long tour and in others like it didn't last more than a day. All we know is we honestly, truly had the time of our lives and met some amazing people.

Thank-you to everyone who came out to the shows, the venues who booked us, and the amazing bands we met and performed with.

TOUR: Fresno

So now we're on the last stop on our tour and none of us are really ready to go home. We feel like we could have stayed in each city for a few more days but touring is about the shows and we're on our final.

When we asked our fans in Fresno where we should play, every single response said: The Starline. So we booked the show on a Tuesday night and just hoped for the best that we'd get a good turn out. And it was much better than we expected! We met a lot of people in Fresno that we've only been able to speak to on myspace and they were a really enthusiastic and fun crowd to play for.

Shout outs to The Robinson Hijack Remedy of Frez & 37 from TX for playing a friggen awesome, high energy gig!

TOUR: San Francisco

There isn't much time to sleep when we get to San Francisco because we've got to be at the venue around 6pm. So after a small break we're ready to be up all night and rock the Bay Area!

We get to the Retox Lounge which underneath a bar, small, and already 1/2 full of people there for the show.

The craziest part is that the venue is designed to look like the inside of an airplane. The owner said that when he bought the place there were pieces of a plane laying around the basement so he decided to make the seats (with buckles and all) into almost a theatre section. But the trippiest thing was when the lights were off, it felt like you were on a stormy flight because the strobe lights that flickered outside of the oval windows.

A bunch of fans from the bay area came out to the show and took some pretty amazing pics with us!

Legit Touring!

You know you are legitimately touring when your band has to leave right after a gig and drive 12 hours to the next one.

Right after our Provo gig we had drive to San Francisco, which, takes all night and all morning. It was sad to leave Provo because we made a TON of friends and fans there, but we were also ready to go to a big city.

James took over for a lot of this stretch, driving through the windingness of Lake Tahoe and the mountains. When he was burnt out, I took over and drove into the Bay Area.

HANGING OUT:

Today is Joe from Forgotten Charity's birthday and he doesn't want anyone to know or do anything special for him, so his bandmates throw him a big pool party at a waterpark and invited everyone and their mom to come.

The park was sick! There were water slides and a really big pool and a children's area for Garrett to frolic. One slide was so ridiculously fast that we actually caught air when we went off the jump (and then I scraped my back and didn't notice the wound until we got back home 1/2 a week later). Probably the best part for us was that it cost $3 to go in. You seriously never hear of anything like that in California. A hater's gonna hate, but I love Utah!

After the park, we went to Patrick from FC's house which reminded me of a hobbit's home as it was underground and small and full of cereal. The restroom was lit only by blue light which is an idea I might bite off for future bathrooms (though, I'm thinking blacklight with glow-in-the-dark skull wallpaper... don't bite off me for that idea or I shall curse ye.) Patrick kept apologizing for everything in relation to his living situation but for about $200 a month, we were all violently jealous.

THE SHOW:
Velour Live was my favorite venue on the tour. Sorry to other venues, but read this and know why:

1. The green room was wall-to-wall in album covers

2. A Giant Jimi Hendrix mirror was the centerpiece of my vanity
3. They recorded us live!
4. Dolls with wings flew around the top of the ceilings
5. THE PLACE WAS PACKED!

That night we opened for Forgotten Charity to a full venue with college kids ready to see some serious rocking. We pretty much felt like we were playing in San Diego with the kind of crowd that was there and they seemed to really like us and we were stoked to give them everything we have. Also my buddy Colin took some amazing pics of us, we'll post the shoot when we get them back.

TOUR: Salt Lake City

After leaving Vegas, we drove up to Utah for our two night stay in Salt Lake City. This was a last minute gig we booked when we had to switch the Provo show to Saturday. Salt Lake was full of some of the nicest people we've met on tour, including our AMAZING friends, Forgotten Charity.

James and I went to see Forgotten Charity at Studio 600, during a dance party the venue host every Thursday. As soon as I saw Joe, the guitarist for FC, we freaked out and hugged and I introduced James. The great thing about Forgotten Charity, is that once you are introduced, they treat you like you are their best friend. They are the nicest guys (and gal) in the world and we love them dearly.

The venue was sold out that night and FC put on a really great show and we invited all of the kids out to see us the next night. After talking to what seemed to be endless cute girls, we had given away a grip of free tickets and made a buttload of new friends.

The next night, we went back to the venue and rocked with some really great, great bands. Pleasant Tree headlined that night and everyone looked great against the backdrop of the club. It doesn't get dark in Salt Lake City until after 9pm during the summer, so we were able to get some really cool lighting as we played.

TOUR: Los Angeles

Los Angeles is the 2nd stop on our "The Doctor Said We'll Outgrow This" Tour and we show up early to Safari Sam's (the venue), unload, talk to the promoters, and then mosey down to the dilapidated 99 cent store on the other side of the parking lot. After finding there is nothing there to purchase (except for expired beer and gummed up hair ties), we shuffle back into the glare of the sun and the heat of LA.

About an hour later, we are SO stoked as our fans start pulling up decked out in So Long Davey! shirts and ready to watch the show! It's our only all ages show in So Cal for the rest of the summer, so people have even driven up from San Diego to see us... WOAH!

After playing what was definitely one of our best shows over the past two years, all we can say to those who packed the show and watched the unsuspecting jaws drop when we hit the stage: we can't thank-you enough because we only get to do this because of you.

We met so many amazing people at the show, and, as it turns out, Maverick Records was there on the balcony and the A&R guy invited us up for a nice chat. As far as that goes, we shall see what comes...

Needless to say, LA was a great start to our first headlining tour.
